
Beginning at a very young age, Shane surrounded herself with animals and made them
a part of her family. In February, 1985 at age 18, Shane was hired as a receptionist
by Woodcliff Animal Hospital in Chatworth, CA. Two years later Shane became Clinic
Manager of this state-of-the-art 12,000 sq ft clinic. In January, 1992 Shane moved
to Durango, Colorado, where she helped to establish and build Bakers Bridge Veterinary
Clinic. Bakers Bridge Clinic offered many low-cost services, and it was there that
Shane realized the importance of these services to the community. In April, 2001
after moving to Las Vegas, NV, Shane was hired by the Lied Animal Foundation, a
35,000 sq ft Animal Shelter, Humane Society, Spay/Neuter Clinic. Shane was hired
as clinic manager over the spay/neuter and vaccination clinic, and soon became Shelter
Manager as well. In September, 2002 Shane moved to Tucson, AZ. Realizing the need
in Tucson for low-cost services, and having a great desire to help reduce pet over-population
in our city.....Shane soon formed the corporation and built Animal Birth Control
of Tucson, Inc, in 2003, with a temporary location at Grant and Stone. In August
2005 Shane successfully opened a spay/neuter clinic at Craycroft & 22nd. In
June 2009 another spay/neuter clinic was opened at Valencia & I-19 (Midvale
Park). Shane's goal and ambition is to reduce Tucson's pet overpopulation "One spay
at a time"!! Shane has a Maltese/Lhasa mix named "Anikin Skywalker and a Terrier
mix named "Commander Cody" !!
