Dr. Carolyn Wulf grew up in Denver, Colorado. Her love of animals began at an early
age when she cared for any small pet her parents would allow. She became interested
in veterinary medicine during her teenage years while rehabilitating a retired racehorse
officially named "Dangerous Moments," but known as "Red." Carolyn left Red in the
care of another teenage girl and moved to Portland, Oregon to attend Lewis and Clark
College and received in 2000 her Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry. She spent several
years after college working in a molecular biology lab, and then in small animal
veterinary hospitals as a veterinary receptionist, assistant, and technician before
starting veterinary school at The Ohio State University. She graduated in 2007,
moved to Tucson and took a job as an emergency veterinarian at a 24-hour hospital.
She has worked in emergency and general practice. Dr. Wulf joined Animal Birth Control
in 2008 working the vaccine clinics. She spent a couple of years in Phoenix working
at a group of emergency hospitals, but returned to Tucson in November, 2011 to work
at ABC Low-Cost Pet Care Clinic. While she enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine,
she is particularly interested in surgery, emergency/critical care, preventive medicine,
dentistry, and avian/exotics medicine. She enjoys traveling, hiking, mountain biking,
snowboarding, surfing and competing in triathlons and running events. She shares
her home with her two dogs, Sissy and Prairie, and loves the mountains and sunshine
in Tucson.
